Before 2011 I was as sports photographer mainly focusing on triathlons. I visited several international races, like the European Championships in Autun (France), Lausanne (Switzerland), WTS Hamburg (Germany), Kopenhagen (Denmark), Lisbon (Portugal) and many more. Besides several images in national magazines and on personal websites of triathletes, one image of athlete ( Hunter Kemper ) was used in the nationwide United States Wheaties campaign Evolution of 2009.
In the year of 2009 I was fascinated by the BBC series Planet Earth. This ultimately made the wish to travel and see and make images of some spectacular things stronger and I made the decision to start planning some serious trips.
It took till 2011 for a first trip to Kenya, visiting the Masai Mara. Travelling with Marsel van Oosten and Daniella Sibbing (squiver.com) was the ultimate push to start photographing on a more frequent basis. For the second trip early 2012 I joined a Swiss group lead by Dionys Moser (dionysmoser.ch) to Tromso (Norway) to witness and photograph the Northern Lights.
During 2012 it became clear that Squiver.com was planning a trip to Iceland. During the winter of 2013 I joined this trip and made some incredible images.
In the same year I visited Namibia in September/October on a solo trip. After the cold in Iceland I joined Squiver in 2014 again on their trip to Zambia.
